18 Textile Loom Related Instruments, 19th/20th Century,
Comprising two wool carders and sixteen various shuttles ( rag and boat type), two containing fur and one is threaded. Loom related maker's marks include those of Waddington of Bradford England on a 12/72 shuttle, an entwined SH mark on a 3339 26 shuttle and one marked in ink "Canadian Celanis" with threads. One bears a patent impressed mark of Jan 17, 1898 and the hand carders have maker's marks: A Whittemore Patent No. 5 Wool Carder by L.S. Watson & Co. of Leicester, Mass. and one with an illegible ink stamp under a crowned R.

Longest Dimensions: HL 2 3/8 x W: 22 x D: 1 7/8 in.

Condition

The solid shuttle bearing the patent mark has a wood split. All have wear commensurate with age and use.
