Sixty-six American Military Lantern Slides, 19th Century,
Spanish American War (1898) series of various formats [glass slides of standard 3 1/4 x 4 in. size and in 4 x 7 x 3/8 in. wooden frames]. 14 color and 52 black and white photographed and illustrated battleships, flagships, commanders (Hobson, Sampson, Schley, Gomez and Capron)- mostly sold by Sears Roebuck Co. Manila, Santiago and Nippon are also featured. With a wooden box and a double slide holder.
Box Dimensions: H: 5 x W: 15 x D: 4 1/2 in.
Wear commensurate with age and use. Specific damage includes a color slide with a 1/3 of it missing; one with a 1 1/4 in. crack; two black and white slides each with a 1" corner crack.
