A Painted German (poss. Nuremberg) Iron Strong Box/Armada Chest, 17th Century,
Having strapwork hinged lid opening to an elaborate four lock functioning mechanism. With two large twisted iron handles on sides, front with iron scrollwork design and two large latches, top with lock mechanism and key, polychrome multicolor floral design throughout.

Functioning key not original.

H: 14 W: 25 1/2 D: 12 1/2 in.

Key not original, key remade. The lock functions and opens with effort.
