A Scottish Rocking Ship, Mahogany, Tall Case Clock, 19th Century
The painted metal dial signed Milne Montrose, with rocking sailing ship in the arch over dial face, with figural painted spandrels depicting the four continents, Europe, Asia, American and Africa. The hood having a swan neck pediment with single brass finial over an arched glazed door, above a flame mahogany veneered case with single door, flaked by columns, raised on flat base.
With two weights, winding key and pendulum.
H: 88 W: 10 D: 19 in.
Condition
Losses to paint on dial, losses to veneer. Not in working condition, needs a tune-up. All lots have imperfections or the effects of aging. Gray's Auctioneers shall have no responsibility for any errors or omissions.
