An American Chippendale Cherry Secretary Bookcase, 19th Century,
In the style of Nathaniel Gould, having three carved corkscrew finials above a broken arch pediment, two arched cabinet doors above a slAntiques lid concealing pigeonholes and small drawers, above four graduating drawers, raised on bracket feet.
H: 86 1/2 W: 40 1/4 D: 22 in.
Lacking keys, pine secondary wood, pulls replaced, hinges replaced, lacking original interior compFine Artments, refinished, restoration to drawers,supports and interior.
It appears the upper portion of secretary is later than slAntiques front desk because of areas of ink staining to
top of slAntiques front. Lower case is refinished, original stain to case was a dark chestnut that appears in lower areas to most drawers of slAntiques front. Right upper trim missing, left upper trim detached to slAntiques front. Three repairs to knots on slAntiques front, two travel through the wood. Two screw holes through wood of doors to upper cabinet. Please see photos for condition details.
