Fair to poor. Edges and covers have scuffs, with slight losses. Losses to corners. Spine rubbed and scuffed. Slight toning throughout, with foxing of title page and frontispiece. Slight foxing throughout. Lacking folding map. Red cloth bookmark loose. Hinges weak and separating. Pencil inscriptions on back flyleaves.

Bookplate: "Thomas Parry" with crest and motto "Live well." Probably Thomas Robert Gambier-Parry (1883-1935), keeper of the Oriental Department Bodleian Library, University of Oxford.
