The wonders of the heavens: being a popular view of astronomy, including a full illustration of the mechanism of the heavens; embracing the sun, moon, and stars, with descriptions of the planets, comets, fixed stars, double stars, the constellations, the galaxy, or Milky-Way, the zodiacal light, aurora borealis, or northern lights, meteors, clouds, falling stars, aërolites, &c.: Illustrated by numerous maps and engravings.
viii, [1], 10-371, [1] p., [15] leaves of plates (some folded and some color), illustrated throughout. Printed in two columns with borders.

Bound in ¾ leather with marbled boards, gilt bands at spine, gilt spine title, marbled endpapers, speckled edges. With decorative paper title label on cover.

Some slight foxing throughout, slight water damage at head or text p. 317-371, increased foxing p.317 -371. Front spine and hinge cracked, tail of spine pulled, edges rubbed, corners bumped, binding soiled; frontis detached. Plates iii and iv partially detached.
