Edison Fireside Phonograph, 20th Century
Playing wax cylinders, this combination type Model A Four Minute phonograph with its original black and brass horn is housed in a quarter-sawn oak case with dovetailed corners resting in a raised molding with a domed lid with bailed handle. The wind up mechanism plays for up to 4 minutes. Serial Number 10821 dated after Oct 3, 1905 .
The Model H reproducer is licensed for use only on Edison phonographs and sold by the Nat'l. Phono. Co. and the wax disc plays "Stars and Stripes".
H: 16 W: 11.5 D: 9 in.
When tested, it worked. Winding handle is included. The arm to support the cone is missing, some wear to gilding, the case lid has wood loss at the corner and spots of red paint on the handle.
