Both volumes bound in matching blind stamped leather, raised bands, gilt spine title label, speckled edges.

With, “L175 Grolier 25a 1st ed. of vol. 2. The first modern encyclopedia of science containing the only [?] of Newton on chemistry,” in pencil on front free endpapers of Vol. 1.

Condition

Very Good to Fine, some slight foxing throughout; slight tear in plate in Vol. 1 (Double microscope); some slight browning on minimal pages and on border of inside pastedown endpapers. Vol. 1 lacks frontis.
