Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco Thermometer Sign, Mid 20th Century,
Porcelain sign with thermometer advertising for Mail Pouch Tobacco. Text reads, “Treat Yourself To The Best, Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco.” Has the original mercury thermometer mounted via a wood brace to the backside of the sign.

H: 38 3/4 W: 8 D: 3/4 in.

Proceeds to benefit the Summit County Humane Society and The American Cancer Society.

Condition

Porcelain loss and rust around both mounting holes. Areas of paint loss to the front of the sign as well as areas of applied paint. Back side of the sign does not have porcelain finish and has many areas of rust and pitting. Thermometer does not read accurately. Areas of wear, grime and use commensurate with age. Gray’s Auctioneers shall have no responsibility for any errors or omissions.
