National Cash Register Company Cash Register, Early 20th Century,
An antique cash register by the National Cash Register Company of Dayton, Ohio. The cash register consists of a metal body painted to look like wood with a glass window at the top and a milk glass sill above the cash drawer, which is wood with 9 compartments. The top of the register has a domed lid which lifts off and has a catch to stay up. Marked with serial number 1686299 and model number 736-2. There is one internal key but no other original keys are present.
H: 18 W: 18 1/2 D: 16 in.
Proceeds to benefit the Summit County Humane Society and The American Cancer Society.
In good condition, the 9 button is stuck in the down position. Buttons are currently jammed. Missing original external key. Areas of paint loss, craquelure, scratches to body of cash register and to sill, wear, grime and use commensurate with age.
