A Regency Style Giltwood Convex Mirror with Two Ormolu Branch Lights, 19th Century
Composed of a round convex mirror surrounded by an ebonized wood border and a giltwood rope in high relief ending in lotus leaves. Two scrolling candlearms flank the mirror, which is surmounted by a five point buck. Also known as a Federal girandole.
H: 43 W: 27 D: 8 in.
The mirror is not original and has pitting to mercury and crazing. Areas of flaking paint and gilding loss with several detached elements and restorations.
