8vo. Half bound leather with blue cloth. Embossed spine and gilt title. xiv, 709 pp., with illustrations. Deckled edges.

Sanger Book is H:9 7/8 x W: 6 5/8 x D: 1 3/4 in.

Hollick Publisher: T. W. Strong, New York. 1853.

Blue cloth bound with gilt spine. Embossed covers. Frontispiece, xi, 429 pp., 11 plates (some chromolithograph).

Hollick book is H: 6 1/8 x W: 4 1/2 x D: 1 1/4 in. Poor. Sanger book has significant losses to spine. Bumps, scuffs, and rubbing of corners, spine, and edges. Pages in fair condition. Hollick book has foxing and browning throughout, slight loss to corners, and bumping of spine.

Only 10 plates are listed in contents, but there is an extra chromolithograph plate of a cross-section of the penis in the Hollick book.
