Our first timed auction of the year, features voluminous volumes and curious curiosities. Lot 126, Tielke's volume on the war between the Prussians, Austrians, and Russians, is from the Library of Thomas Howard, the British deserter and United States supporter. Lot 53 isJohn Greaves volume on the history of English weights and measures. Lot 1 is an Andreas Vogler sundial and compass. Lot 7 is a Young & Sons transit and tripod. Books include: BELL, Ernest, Fighting the Traffic in Young Girls (1910); SHAFTESBURY, Edmund, Sex Magnetism (1925); YOUNG, John, Our Deportment (1880); JEFFERIS, B.G. and NICHOLS, J.L., Light on Dark Corners (1894); KELLY, Thomas, The Female Instructor; or Young Woman's Guide to Domestic Happiness (1822); TALMAGE, T. DeWitt, Social Dynamite; or, the Wickedness of Modern Society (1887, 1888, and 1889).

Each volume is 8vo, approximately 500 pp., with illustrations.

Largest volume is H: 9 3/4 x W: 6 1/2 x D: 1 3/4 in.

Poor. Sex Magnetism detached at spine, attached only at rear panel. KELLY is rebound at hinges and panels to connect spine and boards. Significant toning, and slight browning throughout each. Covers bumped, scuffed, and rubbed. Significant losses to spines of JEFFERIS and NICHOLS and also to TALMAGE 1889 edition.
