Our first timed auction of the year, features voluminous volumes and curious curiosities. Lot 126, Tielke's volume on the war between the Prussians, Austrians, and Russians, is from the Library of Thomas Howard, the British deserter and United States supporter. Lot 53 isJohn Greaves volume on the history of English weights and measures. Lot 1 is an Andreas Vogler sundial and compass. Lot 7 is a Young & Sons transit and tripod. Whether lost in a book or lost in the woods, there is something to keep the thrill of discovery alive in this short, sweet, auction.

Set of 3 books on Native Americans, with 8 magic lantern Slides, 19th and 20th century.
Books include: DODGE, Richard, Our Wild Indians (1883); MORRISON, Dorothy Nafus, Chief Sarah: Sarah Winnemucca's Fight for Indian Rights (1990); BILLARD, Jules, The World of the American Indian (1974).

Billard includes folding map in sleeve on pastedown rear board.

Magic slides include 7 slides from National Moving Pictures Supply Company, Cleveland Ohio, depicting "Pawnee" and "Shawnee" caricatures. With a slide in wood depicting Totem poles from the Pacific Northwest in Alaska.

Largest book is H: 10 1/2 x W: 9 1/2 x D: 1 1/4 in. Fair to poor. Dust jacket of Billard torn in multiple places, with slight losses. Toning in all books. Dodge in poor condition, with front and rear boards detached and spine split at a few places. Spine is separating, with losses. Covers are rubbed, stained, scuffed, with slight losses.
