Our first timed auction of the year, features voluminous volumes and curious curiosities. Lot 126, Tielke's volume on the war between the Prussians, Austrians, and Russians, is from the Library of Thomas Howard, the British deserter and United States supporter. Lot 53 isJohn Greaves volume on the history of English weights and measures. Lot 1 is an Andreas Vogler sundial and compass. Lot 7 is a Young & Sons transit and tripod. Whether lost in a book or lost in the woods, there is something to keep the thrill of discovery alive in this short, sweet, auction.

Set of 4 science fiction books, including SILVERBERG, Robert, The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume One.
Books include: BRADBURY, Ray, Long After Midnight (1978); ASIMOV, Isaac, Nightfall and other Stories (1969), AND Before the Golden Age: A Science Fiction Anthology of the 1930s (1974); SILVERBERG, Robert, The Science Fiction Hall of Fame, Volume One (1970).

Each book is approximately 500 pp. and hardcover, except Bradbury (paperback).

Largest book is H: 8 1/2 x W: 5 3/4 x D: 2 1/8 in. Fair to poor. Toning throughout. Dust jackets have slight tears, scuffs, and rubbing. Paperback of Bradbury has loss to front flyleaf and bend to corner, with tape on spine and library sticker on cover. Asimov anthology has tears and separation of spine at panels, with bumped and scuffed spine and corners, with slight losses. Flyleaves of Asimov anthology have a cut out from an ex-libris embossed stamp, with stamp: "Property of Grafton Public Library."
