Our first timed auction of the year, features voluminous volumes and curious curiosities. Lot 126, Tielke's volume on the war between the Prussians, Austrians, and Russians, is from the Library of Thomas Howard, the British deserter and United States supporter. Lot 53 isJohn Greaves volume on the history of English weights and measures. Lot 1 is an Andreas Vogler sundial and compass. Lot 7 is a Young & Sons transit and tripod. Books include: AMERICAN TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY, Notes on the Mathematics of the Principles of Electricity (1930); SMOLEY, Constantine, Smoley's Tables (1914); PALMER, Claude Irwin and LEIGH, Charles Wilber, Plane and Spherical Trigonometry (1934); SMITH, David, Number Stories from Long Ago (1919); FRY, Thornton, Probability and its Engineering Uses (1928); ULLMAN, Neil, Statistics: An Applied Approach (1972); EZEKIEL, Mordecai, Methods of Correlation Analysis (1941); SOMMERS, Hobart, The Slide Rule and How to Use it (1942).

Largest book is H: 9 1/4 x W: 6 1/4 x D: 1 5/8 in.

Slide rules include 1931 and 1936 circular logarithmic slide rules, Keuffel & Esser Co. 1900 logarithmic slide rule, Pickett 1960 Model N 3-ES Power Log Exponential metal slide rule, and 1941 circular slide rule with binary and logarithmic slide rules. Sommers slide rule book includes case for slide rule on interior front board. All slide rules with cases.

Largest slide rule is 8 3/4 in. diameter.

Fair to poor. Books have toning throughout. Some losses to spines. Rubbing and scuffed. Slight rules have slight losses to cases, and scuffing commensurate with use.
