Two American Rocking Chairs, 20th Century,
The armless chair has a rounded crest with two notches underneath with turned uprights and six curved but flat vertical slats; turned stretchers with original finish. The child's Windsor-backed stenciled chair with five spindles was made and marked by Nichols & Stone of Gardner, MA.
Armless Rocking Chair Dimensions: H: 37.5 x W: 21 x D: 33 in. and 15 in high seat.
Child's Chair seat height 10 in.
Adult rocker worn and alligator finish, with legs screwed into seat at a later date and added felt to bottom of rocker. Neither chair has any play. General wear commensurate with use.
