An American Walnut Oxbow Front Desk, Massachusetts Boston North Shore, 18th/19th Century,
Slant lid over compartmented interior, over four shaped drawers with brass pulls raised on carved claw and ball feet.
H: 44 3/4 W: 41 1/2 D: 34 1/2 in.
Has key and functioning locks. Surface wear and scratches. Original finish removed. Area of restoration to the left and right rear edge. Original pulls replaced. Joint separation to joint bottom and crack to interior bottom drawer.
Slanted front: losses to finish. A 24 inch area of restoration to horizontal crack to left and right of locking plate. Surface scratches and wear. Joint separation and cracks to bottom of each drawer. Surface wear and scratches to lower apron and feet. A 31 inch vertical crack to left side of case. Joint separation and warping to back. Secondary wood is pine.
