William Sommer (1867-1949) Waiting in Bethlehem, Watercolor on paper, Signed and dated 1940 lower left. With original label. Framed dimensions: h: 24 1/2 x w: 29 1/8 in. H: 14 3/4 W: 19 1/4 in. Exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art 'William Sommer Memorial Exhibition,' 1950. Acquired directly from the artist by Arno Otto Bohme, a personal friend and neighbor.
Condition
1/8 inch tear to lower right margin and previous paper mounting tape fragments to all four outer margins; hinge mounted.
