Vol. 2: iv, 493 pp., with illustrations (one folding plate).
Vol. 3: v, 570 pp., with plates.
Vol. 4: 504 pp., with illustrations.
Vol. 5: xi, 842 pp., with illustrations, with index.

Each volume is H: 9 3/4 x W: 7 x D: 2 1/8 in.

Poor. Vol. 1 front board detached, loss of spine (kept with book), and frontispiece portrait and flyleaf loose. Vol. 2 has significant losses to bottom spine. Vol. 2 spine separated from pages, and split at page 161. All volumes bumped, rubbed, and scuffed, with losses at corners. Vol. 3 hinges weak. Vol. 4 pages uncut. Vol. 5 hinges weak. Vol. 5 some pages uncut.

Pencil owner inscription: "H. B. Richardson. 1876."
