Undated vellum manuscript possibly 19th or 20th century, with two columns per page with rubrication and heavy illustrations. The pages are pricked and ruled with a sharp stylus to create invisible lines to guide the calligrapher.
98 leaves with text on rector and verso, illustrated.
Handwritten in black and red ink and illuminated with full-page miniature paintings in vivid full color, with patterned cloth guard sheets at each illustration. With ten hand-colored illustrations and two sets of double-page illustrations at the beginning and end of the text. With decorative, full color vignettes at chapter headings.
Bound in wooden boards top and bottom covers, each of two pieces joined with the sewing thread, exposed spine, sewed in Ethiopian-style chain stitch.
