A Pair of Lars Holmström Copper Sconces, Mid 20th Century,
Brass over copper elongated shell form with five lobes each. Hand-hammered and etched JHA monogram and a Made in Sweden stamp, possibly Stockholm.
H: 13 1/4 W: 6 D: 3 1/4 in.
He participated at the 1925 Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes.
Lars August Holmström (1894-1959) was a designer and craftsman of metalwork, specializing in lighting. He was one of the craftsmen who founded Arvika Konsthantverk, a company that allowed artisans to sell their own products.
Tarnish residue and wear commensurate with use.
