Young & Sons Transit with Tripod, late 19th/early 20th Century
Young & Sons of Philadelphia brass theodolite with compass, spirit levels, with wooden box case and a canvas and leather carrying bag for the tripod used for surveying. Serial number 6888. Compass component still within 1 degree accurate to magnetic north as of 1/14/26.
