William Sommer (1867-1949) Boy in Brown, Watercolor on paper mounted on cardstock, Signed and dated 1936 lower left. With museum number, but not exhibited. With original label. Framed dimensions: h: 27 3/4 x w: 20 5/8 in. H: 19 W: 12 in. Rejected in 1935 from the May Show.Exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art 'William Sommer Memorial Exhibition,' 1950. Acquired directly from the artist by Arno Otto Bohme, a personal friend and neighbor.
Condition
All four margins taped to mat board; two punctures upper right and lower right corner.
