8vo. Full leather bound, with black ruled and gilt title on spine.

xi, table of contents, xxxi, 400 pp., with 6 folding plates.

H: 9 1/8 W: 6 1/4 D: 1 3/8 in. Poor. Front board is nearly completely detached at the hinge. Leather losses to panels and corners. Mug stain on front cover. Toning throughout. Slight tear, no loss, to plate VI. Plates II and III are out of order to each other.

Lacking volume 2.

Ink inscription on front flyleaf and title page: "Robert L. Tillotson" and "John A. Davidson." Robert Livingston Tillotson (1788-1878), American lawyer and politician.
