8vo. 6 volumes. Marbled Edges. Rebound black cloth. Vol. 8 in original half bound leather with marbled boards, raised spine, and gilt title on spine.
Each volume is H: 9 7/8 x W: 6 3/8 x D: 2 in.
Fair to poor. Toning throughout. Rebound volumes have slight bumps to corners. Vol. 8 (in original binding) scuffed, rubbed, bumped, with losses to edges and corners. Separation at head and panel of Vol. 8. Slight tears in a few maps.
Only includes volumes 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8.
Ink inscription Vol. 8: "The Manchester Artillery Officer Library. Presented by Major Birley." Col. Richard Birley became major of the Manchester Artillery in 1891, was promoted to Colonel in 1909, and was wounded and taken prisoner during WWI.
